Spray Tanning – the best way to a quick tan
Let’s face it: Britain doesn’t have the ideal climate for achieving a deep, even tan. The promise of a ‘barbeque summer’ last year came to nothing, and this year scientists are refusing to commit to a weather forecast more than a few weeks in advance. Plus, with a recession on, few of us can afford to jet off somewhere hot for a few weeks on the beach. For some time, ‘Sunless tanning’ has been the main way that most Brits choose to tan, and the trend looks set to continue. spray tanning is one such solution.
It’s best to try out Sunless Tanning Products at home before going to a professional salon, as a small number of people may find that it irritates sensitive skin. Both the Air Brush and conventional methods of spray tanning are available for home application. However, once you know that sunless tanning is for you, going to a salon is the most convenient way to go. Professional services can often be accessed at your local spa or gym as well as at specialist salons. And at a salon there’s no watching the clock in the bathroom, arms and legs akimbo, wondering if washing it off now will leave you pale, streaky or orange.
Recently, Jordan’s boyfriend Alex Reid was ridiculed after self-applying fake tan from a goodie bag after an ‘awards ceremony’ on Celebrity Big Brother, which turned him as orange as his girlfriend. Asked what Jordan would think, Alex replied ‘Forget the girlfriend. What’s the rest of the nation going to think?’ Jordan might not have been too put off by her man’s self-applied spray tan, but that kind of orange is frowned upon by most. After Alex leaves the Big Brother house, it’s to be hoped that he finds himself a good salon for some more professional spray tanning.
It’s up to you to choose how your tan is applied. Spray tanning can be applied by a beauty worker using a spray tanning gun, in the same way that you’d do it at home in your bathroom. A professional beauty worker, though, will probably achieve a more even, complete effect. After all, she knows what she’s doing – she does this every day!
Spray tanning can also be applied in a booth, which is a cubicle a bit like a small shower stall, where solution is sprayed through several jets. This method can be quicker, but if you’re going for that option, you need to make sure that the salon’s got proper precautions in place to protect your eye area, mouth, nose and to stop you from ingesting any of the spray. Although the solution is completely safe on skin, like most beauty aids it’s not something that you want in your lungs or digestive system! Similarly, if you use tanning solutions at home, make sure that you completely avoid the eye and mouth areas: you can always use a bronzer to top these up.
If you pick your spray Tan Salon right, you’ll be able to get a tan that’s cheaper than a ticket to Thailand, more reliable than a search for British sun, and more convenient than the lengthy, stressful process of applying fake tan yourself. Going under the spray tanning gun once every couple of weeks leaves you able to go about the rest of your beauty routine, and your day-to-day life, taking a deep, even, natural-looking tan for granted.
