Tanning Booths and Tanning Salons Listed in Google   by M. Sharp

Since the internet is become the main source of information for a larger portion of the population it is very important that local businesses utilze it to capture new clients. You can pay for online advertising, or use the “organic” search results which are free. There are advantages to both, but the organic results are great because they don’t cost you anything besides your time and they last forever. The first thing to do is to set up a Google Local Business listing. It is very easy to set-up and takes only minutes. First run a search to see if your business shows up already. For a tanning salon an example of this would be “tanning in Atlanta, GA”. If you find your salon then you should click on it and find the “claim this business” button. If you already have a Google account then use this account, or open a new one specifically for the listing.

At this point you should fill in the profile of your business as completely as possible. Include your address, phone number, logo, hours of operation, services offered, and Tanning Lotion brands. The more professional you make this listing look the better because this will be the first impression that many people get of your salon. In the section on the Google listing about products and services add information about the tanning booths that you offer. You can even add a coupon to the listing. I would advise to add a coupon that is too good to pass up. Examples include one free tan, or a $9 spray tan. Also you should include a link to your website and in the description of your business add a comment about visiting your site for more information and give the web address so that people will notice it.

At this point ask some of your loyal customers to go on Google and leave you some positive reviews. This is a good way to give clients a good feeling about your salon before they even visit. Many people trust these reviews and it tells people that you have a good business because your clients were willing to spend the time to go on and leave a positive review. Other sites to consider adding a profile to are Merchant Circle, Insider Pages, Yellow Pages, Yahoo Local Listings, and Yelp.
